Continuing the new series of translated prayers, this time from the booklet of prayers by Rabbi Berland to have Children Who Are Tzaddikim.

41. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.

Grant me male sons who will thank Your name day and night.

And they should not forget you even for one second, and they shouldn’t hear any noise and no sound here in the world, and not see any sight here in the world, and should not stumble G-d forbid in any forbidden sight all the days of their lives.

And may they merit to be like the seven beggars [from Rabbi Nachman’s story of the Seven Beggars] who never saw this world, and who never heard any sounds here, and never let out any thought here in matters of this world, and never breathed the air of this world, and didn’t touch anything at all in this world, and never tread with soles of their feet on the ground of the world.

And in the merit of this may they merit to carry on their shoulders the entire world, with all the generations, with all the souls.

And to reveal the wonderful tree about which it is said:

“[A]nd the wolf will dwell with the lamb and the leopard will lie down with the goat and the calf and the young lion and fatling together and the youngster will lead them and the cow and the bear will be graze together and their young will lie down together, and the lion like cattle will eat hay. A suckling will play by a viper’s hole and a newly weaned child will stretch his hand towards an adder’s lair. They will neither injure or destroy on all of My holy mountain, because the land will be filled with the knowledge of Hashem, like water covering the seabed”.

And may I merit that the soul of King David will be hoisted in me like it’s written,

“[A]nd it will be on that day that the descendant of Yishai who stands as a banner for the peoples, nations will seek him, and his resting place will be glorious”.

And may I not be afraid of anything in the world like it’s written, “behold G-d is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid because my strength and my praise is G-d, Hashem, and He will be for me a salvation”.

And may I feel Hashem every moment and second, and may I place Hashem before my eyes at every moment and second.

And may I merit that the name Havaya will accompany me with every movement at every moment, and may I feel the name Havaya inside of me, inside all of my 248 limbs and 365 sinews, like it’s written, “my joy and my song is in the dwellers of Zion because great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel”.

And fulfill in me the verse, “and the remnant of Yaakov will be among the nation, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the animals in the forest and like a lion’s whelp among flocks of sheep, who, when he passes by, tramples and tears apart, and there is no rescuer”.

  1. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.

Grant me and my wife (husband) to be students of Yeshayahu the prophet, who prophesied and said, “behold me and the children which Hashem gave me, with signs and wonders”.

Please Gracious and Merciful One, grant me and my wife (husband) to accept these wonderful children that will be on the level of the holy Moshe Rabbenu, ‘the flowing spring the source of wisdom, happiness and emunah’.

And may they be filled with emunah and full of happiness, and full of holiness and purity, that will light up all the worlds from one end of the world to the other.

And may their light spread and increase from moment to moment and from second to second, and may their light not cease even for one second.

Rather, on the contrary, may their light spread and overcome and spread and rise up through all the worlds, in the upper and lower worlds, in the world to come and in this world.

And may they light up with their light all the darkness, until they merit with the strength of their wonderful light to build the Beit HaMikdash speedily in our days, in the blink of an eye, Amen.

43. Master of the world who can do anything.

Grant me the merit to be like Mordechai and Esther who fulfilled the verse, “your going after Me in the wilderness into a land that was unsown”.

And may I merit to be encompassed in Mordechai (276) and Esther (661) = 937 who went after You in the wilderness, ‘like a roaring lion’, and through this to fulfill this verse, “your going (470) after me (217) in the wilderness (248) = 937”.

And through this, may I merit to strengthen my children with the spirit of Yisrael Sabba, to strengthen them day and night so that they will know all of Shas, Rashi, Tosfot, Ramban, Rashba, Ritva, Meiri, Rosh, Rif and the rest of the commentators in holiness and modesty.

And may they merit to have mercy on each other.

And to know all the Rambam with the Kesef Mishna, Lechem Mishna, Mahari Kurkus, Radbaz, the Gra, Migdal Oz, Mishneh LeMelech.

And may we merit to fulfill the law, ‘all who have mercy on the creations, they have mercy on him from heaven, like it says, “and He gave you mercy and you were merciful and you increased”.

And all of Israel that accompany them are like brothers, like it says, “you are children to Hashem your G-d”.

If a brother does not have mercy on his brothers who will have mercy on him? And to whom can the poor of Israel raise their eyes, to the nations that hate them and pursue them? Behold, their eyes are only longing for their brothers.

And all who raise their eyes from charity is called destructive, like serving idols is called destructive, and regarding serving idols it’s said, “the men of destruction went out” and by raising one’s eyes from charity it says, “take care lest there will be a matter in your heart which is destructive”.

And may they know all of the Turim with Beit Yosef, Bach, Prisha, Drisha, Darchei Moshe and the rest of the commentators, and all four parts of the Shulchan Aruch with Magen Avraham, Taz, Shach, Sma’, Chelkat MeChokek, Beit Shmuel and the rest of the commentators, and all the books of Chassidut, and especially the books of Rabbenu HaKadosh, Rabbi Natan, his students, and his students’ students until the end of all the generations.

And the main thing is that we should always have a heart which is broken and dejected.

Like it’s written, “a heart which is broken and dejected Hashem does not abandon” and it says, “to give life to the spirit of the lowly and to give life to the heart of the dejected”. “And woe to him, who destroys the poor, woe to him, rather he should be for him a father, when in mercy or in actions”.

And they should fulfill in me the verse, “I was eyes to the blind and I was legs to the lame” and it says, “I am a father to the destitute if I was ignorant of their grievance I would investigate. I smashed the fangs of injustice and caused prey to be cast from its teeth”.

And may I merit to close my eyes completely, and through this to fulfill the verse, “he closed his eyes from seeing evil, a king in his beauty your eyes will see, you will see a land from afar”.

44. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.

Remove from me and from my wife (husband) all the fears we have in our home.

And there will no longer occur any damage and no illness and nothing and no pains, and expel all the demons and evil spirits from our home, and there will no longer be any place for any evil spirit in our holy home.

And our home will be holy with the holiness of the Holy of Holies, and the tables in our home will be sanctified with the holiness of the Shulchan HaPanim (the table of showbreads in the Beit HaMikdash).

And the beds in our home will be sanctified with the holiness of the ark of the covenant, and the cupboards in our home will be sanctified with the holiness of the planks of the Mishkan, and the chairs in our home will be sanctified with the holiness of the incense altar.

And there will always be a candle of pure olive oil lit in our home in the memory of Rabbenu HaKadosh.

And the soul of Rabbenu HaKadosh, which is the G-dly spirit which hovers over the waters should always hover over our holy home, and Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov should always rest in our home, and should always hover over us.

And may we merit that there will be imbued in me and my wife (husband) and in my children the souls of the seven shepherds, and through this we will never be ill again.

And may I and my children merit to learn Torah day and night without pausing for a moment, and all our interest and longing and leaning will be solely for the sake of the holy Torah and the holy books of Rabbenu HaKadosh, Zohar, Etz Chaim, Shas and all the books of the Torah, Prophets and Writings, Rambam, Shulchan Aruch, Tur, Rif, Rosh, Tosfot, Ramban, Rashba, Ritva and all the commentators and explicators.

All these holy teachings may I and my children merit to learn in this holy home, and through this we will never be ill again.

45. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.

Grant me the merit to pour out my heart like water before You:

I recall (234) the works (180) of G-d (15) when (30) I remember (233) from antiquity (184) your wonders (131), and I shall consider (434) all (52) your actions (200) and regarding your works (584) I will speak (324) = 2601”.

And in the merit of this, may I merit Hashem who is One (1), to be encompassed in all ten Sefirot from Keter to Malchut, and each one made up of ten Havayot (2600) = 2601.

And from now, may I merit to have intention in every thought, speech and action to unify the holy (415) name (341) Blessed (232) is He (12).

And through this may I merit children with fear (221) of heaven (390) who will have imbued in them the souls of Moshiach (358) the son of (52) Yosef (156) and Moshiach (358) the son of (52) David (14) = 2601 who will bring the complete redemption and will build the Beit HaMikdash speedily in our days, in the blink of an eye.

Amen, Netzach, Selah, Va’ed.

And may they merit to be attached to Rabbenu HaKadosh with each and every breath.

Please, “Creator (209) of healing (693) awesome (257) in praises (841) = 2000”. Please Merciful and Gracious One who can do anything, hear my cry and my supplications, my groans and my cries.

And fulfill in me the verse, “show me (276) (401) your appearance (271) let me hear (495) (401) your voice (156) = 2000 because your voice is sweet and your appearance is beautiful”.

47. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld,

Save the nation that declares (47) I am (61) a wall (59), brilliant (207) as the sun (73), yet exiled (44) and displaced (277). Likened (449) to a palm tree (670) = 1680”.

Master of the world who can do anything, please, Father (3) who is good (17), I (61) believe (146) in G-d (28) and in Moshe (353) His servant (82).

And may I merit to educate my children, and may they never leave the true Tzadik.

====

48. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld.

Grant me the merit to have immense happiness always without pausing for a moment.

And I will not let sadness enter into me even for one second, and like ‘the holy Jew’ says, that if a person does not let even a drop of sadness enter him, then nothing bad can happen to him, and no one is able to harm him at all, and then he will be showered with all the abundance in the world.

Please Merciful and Gracious One, grant me the merit to fulfill that which is said in Prayer #81, that I will merit to increase my dancing.

And through this may I merit to ‘stand up on their own feet’, which refers to a person’s money which stands him on his feet.

And through this may I merit to an abundance of money without end and without limit, which is able to carry all my sons and daughters with peace of mind, and to give plenty of charity and all my sons and sons-in-law will be able to continue to learn Torah day and night.

And all of them will do an hour of hitbodedut at least every day and get up at midnight every day.

And may I merit to support them with dignity all the days of their lives, and they won’t lack for anything, and they will also merit to fund others with largess and dignity.

Save the nation that declares (47) I am (61) a wall (59), brilliant (207) as the sun (73), yet exiled (44) and displaced (277). Likened (449) to a palm tree (670) yet killed (224) for Your sake (130) = 2141.”
