Rabbi Berland’s Prayers for Holy Children, #3
Continuing the new series of translated prayers, this time from the booklet of prayers by Rabbi Berland to have Children Who Are Tzaddikim.
19. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld, grant me the merit of the joy of Shabbat.
And to sing the Shabbat Songs with all the boys and girls, and not to let the children have even a minute or a second of wasted time, and just to busy ourselves with saying Tehillim, and reading the stories of Rabbenu, and the other Tzadikim.
And through the Shabbat Songs, and in the merit of keeping the Shabbat, may we merit the utmost happiness, and to come out of the boredom of 12 hours, during which most people waste their time.
And through the joy of Shabbat and the Shabbat Songs, may we merit a genuine attachment to Hashem Yitbarach, and to live up to 120 years, because through the Shabbat Songs, we merit to be included in Arich Anpin, from which comes all the length of days and years, the main part of which we merit is through honoring our father and mother, like it says, “in order to lengthen your days”.
Because just like through honoring one’s father and mother, we merit to be included in Arich Anpin, the roots of creation, so too through the Shabbat Songs.
Especially, when we sing “Chai Zekof Mach”, because then we enliven the author of the song, “Mah Yedidut Menuchatech At Shabbat HaMalka” (‘How beloved is your rest, you the Shabbat Queen’), who merited to revive his son, who passed away at candle lighting.
And who he placed on his book as a living being, and in doing so promised to revive him through the song, “Mah Yedidut Menuchatech”, as through this song all of the sins of the youth were removed, and he returned anew to life.
And so to through each and every song, and each and every song and composition from the Shabbat Songs, it’s possible to revive all the dead, and to heal all the sick.
Because the power of the Shabbat Songs is the same power as the Shmoneh Esrei like it says in the Imrei Noam (Parashat Vayishlach) that since they shortened the Shmoneh Esreh [on Shabbat], they completed this through the Shabbat Songs.
Master of the world, “I am Hashem, who saves you (451) in your time (472) of suffering (295) = 1218”.
Grant us the merit to the Tiferet (beauty) (1111) of sons (107) = 1218 and may we merit male sons who will be the essence (200) of the soul (790) of our awesome (268) and holy (415) teacher (268) Rabbenu Nachman son of Simcha son of Faige, whose soul was from the essence of the hidden (71) light (212) of the act (415) of Creation (913) = 1941.
And may we merit to happiness of the soul.
Please Hashem who is One (1), “to Hashem (56) is the land (296) and its fullness (88), the earth (432) and its (7) residents (334) = 1214”.
And may we merit all our days to live on the holy (409) mountain (207) in Jerusalem (598), and the merit (438) of Moshe (349) the faithful (146) shepherd (281) = 1214 will protect us, and may we merit to bring to the world the soul of (790) Moshiach (358) the son of (52) David (14) = 1214.
22. Master of the world who can do anything.
Guard me with the blink (424) of Your eyes (160) = 584 and in the merit of this may I merit to see, Hashem who is One (1), eye (130) to eye, Moshiach (358) the son of (42) David (24) and Mordechai the Jew (40) = 584, and Esther the Queen.
Please Hashem, grant me the merit to know that I am important to You very, very much, more than all the other creations.
And fulfill in me and my descendants and their descendants the verse, “And it will be that the children of Israel will be like the sand of the sea which (501) cannot (31) be counted (350) from its abundance (248) = 1130”.
And may I always give, “praise (310) to G-d (61) who (501) created (203) everything (55) = 1130”.
And fulfil in me the verse, “many daughters performed valor, but you (407) rose (510) above (100) all of them (111) = 1128”.
And may I merit an abundance of sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, great grandsons and great granddaughters, until the end of all the generations, like it says:
““And it will be (26) that the children (62) of Israel (541) will be like the sand (64) of the sea (55) = 1128 which cannot be counted from its abundance”.
24. Master of the world who can do anything.
Grant my son the merit to be like Daniel the charming (464) man (311) = 775 and may he be the most nice and sweet in the world, and the most charming in the world, like Daniel the charming (464) man (311) = 775.
And also may my daughter be the most wise in the world, like it says, “her mouth (95) opens (493) with wisdom (75) and the Torah (1012) of kindness (72) is on (100) her tongue (391) = 2238”.
And may my son be calm, and develop appropriately.
And may we merit, Hashem who is One (1), to thank You with song (517) and with melody (258) = 775, with thanks (417) and with joyous song (358) = 775.
And may we all merit to see Eliyahu the prophet who is remembered for good = 400, who was pure in his eyes = 400, like it’s written, “send (338) Tishbi (712) to the treasured (104) nation (140) peace (214) joy (656) and rest (74) = 2238”.
And may I be the most happy and the most joyous in the world.
25. Master of the world, grant us the merit that all my sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, great grandsons and great granddaughters, all of them will grow up and develop wonderful awe of heaven.
And they will be surrounded all their lives with fiery flames, like Serach the daughter of Asher and Devorah the wife of Lapidot, who were surrounded all of their lives by fiery flames, and sparks of fire came out and flew from them.
Like Devorah the wife of Lapidot, who was called the wife of Lapidot on account of the sparks of fire which flew out from her at the time she was prophesying, because the Tanna D’Vei Eliyahu says that sparks of fire flew from Devroah at the time she was prophesying.
And her whole identity was only fiery flame, a holy fire to Hashem Yitbarach.
And from the day she was born she would prophesize prophesies of fire about everything that happened, and that would happen.
Devorah and Serach the daughter of Asher have sanctuaries above in heaven, where all the righteous women gather, who were fiery flames to Hashem Yitbarach from the day they were born.
And therefore decree for my sons and my daughters, my grandsons and granddaughters, my great grandsons and great granddaughters, that they will always go in the way of Hashem, without any deviation or aberration.
And may they not leave the way of Torah for even one second, and they shouldn’t have, G-d forbid, any contemplation of leaving the path of Hashem.
And from the day of their Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah, may they only increase their strength in Torah, and sing and play music all the days of their lives for the house of Hashem, like Devorah the prophetess and Serach the daughter of Asher.
26. Master of the world who can do anything and from whom nothing is withheld,
“Save the nation that declares I am (61) a wall (59) = 120, brilliant as the sun, yet exiled and displaced. Likened to a palm tree yet killed for Your sake. She hugs and clings to You, bearing Your yoke.”
And may we merit to educate our children, in the way of our holy and awesome teacher (Rabbenu).
And grant me the merit in the merit of Eliyahu (52) the prophet (68) = 120 who is remembered for good for all the salvations, the miracles and wonders.
And to know Shas, Likutei Moharan, Likutei Halachot, Sippurey Ma’asiot, Likutei Tefillot, all of them word for word and letter for letter, like it’s written,
“fortunate is the one who comes here with his learning in his hand”.
27. Master of the world who can do anything, draw down please guarding and protection on our tender children, in spirituality and materialism.
And guard them from the evil eye, from the yetzer hara, from an evil occurrence, from an evil friend (male or female).
And may the Sitra Achra not be able to spread its net at their feet, because they are weak and tempted to all forbidden things, and to all sins, and therefore they need double and triple protection, not to be tested by the yetzer hara and by evil friends.
And save our tender children from the yetzer hara and from evil and impure thoughts, and the impure thoughts will not, G-d forbid, rule over them, and may they not stumble in a sin, and not be confused by any thoughts of forbidden or impure things.
And may we enjoy from them holy pleasantness all 120 years, and the bad thoughts will not be able to trip us up, or our sons or our daughters, G-d forbid.
And may we merit from now, to complete the book of Tehillim every single day, and as a cast iron rule, because only the book of Tehillim can save us, day and night = 177, and through this may we enter into Gan Eden with our bodies = 177, like Serach the daughter of Asher = 1411.
And through this may we subdue the eleven (11) chiefs of Esav and fulfill in us the verse, “and it was turned around so that (501) the Jews (80) ruled (355) over (50) their enemies (414) = 1411”.
28. Master of the world who can do anything, grant me the merit that the child which was born to us, will have the verse fulfilled in him, Hashem who is One (1), “out of the mouths (130) of babes (186) and sucklings (222) You have established (474) strength (83) = 1096”
And through this may we merit that this child of ours will be like Yosef the Tzadik, about whom it was said, “Yosef (156) is still (80) alive (18) and behold (36) he (12) rules (376) over all (52) the land (291) of Egypt (280)” and over the ten (10) husks = 1411.
And through this may we merit, us and our children to enter into Gan (53) Eden (124) = 177 with our bodies, like Serach (508) the daughter (402) of Asher (501) = 1411, who played on a harp, “Yosef is still alive and behold he rules over all the land of Egypt and he has two children, Menashe and Efraim.”
29. Master of the world who can do anything, in the merit of, “and Yakshan gave birth to Shvah and Dadan, and the sons of Dadan were Ashurim, Letushim and Leumim” and “Elda’ah.
All these were the children of Keturah” who was perfumed with myrrh and frankincense and all types of good deeds, and through this she merited to bring 14 nations to the world.
Please Hashem, from Noah came all the heads of the nations, in the merit of being a righteous and simple man, so too grant all of us the merit to be righteous and simple people.
And through this may we merit that all our descendants and our descendants’ descendants will complete their full measure all their 120 years, and may they merit long life for all their 120 years, amidst strong health without any blots, weakness or pain.
And may they fulfill the measure of their tasks and the measure of their mission in this world without any hindrance or denunciation.
And may they live all their 120 years with comfort, peace and strong health all 120 years, like in the time of Noah, who every day would knock in a nail and say over it a discourse for 12 hours from 6.00 in the morning to 6.00 in the evening.
And he did not pay attention to all the mockers and deriders who made fun of him and mocked him on account of him prophesying to them prophesies that would take place in another 120 years, and they did not pay attention to any of his words at all.
Therefore, the Midrash HaGadol says, “a woman of valor who can find” this is talking about the wife of Noah, who stood like an iron wall against all the persecutors who pursued her husband day and night without pause for a moment or second.
And her husband succeeded in her merit and because of her cries.
Because she was a true woman of valor, that only strengthened her husband and didn’t pay any attention to any of the unusual things he did.
Like, that he would take a nail and give a discourse over it for 12 hours, and instead of being a Rosh Yeshiva and instead of giving over Torah lessons, he decided to open a woodwork shop.
And he went with all of his students to cut down trees in the forest, and on each and every tree that he cut down he would give over a discourse lasting a week without eating, drinking or sleeping.
And all of this was done in order that maybe he would succeed in awakening at least just one person to make teshuva.
But, all the people of his generation said ‘with the tread of our feet we will stop and close up the depths and no water will rise up and flood the face of the earth, G-d forbid’.
